Very basic question about audio editing

Will Pinnacle Studio allow me to edit the audio, for instance cutting out
stutters and other gaffs using the wave and then have the video keep
synced? Here's my goal. I have a video tape of a comedy performance. I
stuttered and would like to cut the stutter out, which I can do easily in an
audio editing program. I would like the video to follow the cut and stay
synched.

I guess you would have to add a tiny bit of something into the audio to keep
the timing the same. If the audio is then a wav or MP3 you can lock the
video track, delete the original audio and then paste in the altered audio.
