Hi,

I'm trying to create PAL format DVDs in Studio Plus 9.4.2. I'm selecting
the Disc option in Make Movie but I can't seem to find where I can select
PAL output. It always makes NTSC 720x480 29.97 fps. Even in the MPEG
option of Make Movie under custom settings the resolution options are all
xxx by 480.

Any ideas how to get PAL DVDs (7xx by 57x I think, at 25 fps)

I'm using Canon Ixus AVIs (640x480 30fps) as souce and I get a message about
non standard frame rate may cause sync issues etc.when I drag them in Ok
not unexpected I guess.

Any ideas.

Thank, Darren.

Studio generally gives options based on the source input and your
hardware devices. You didn't say how you obtained the Canon avi, ie,
whether you captured it with Studio via firewire/usb hookup to the
camcorder, or imported it from another source to your hard drive. If
the former, reset the settings to capture to PAL. If the latter, you
can convert the avi framerate to 25fps with programs like VirtualDub
then load it into Studio and see what happens. Yep, it's a trial and
error approach, but such is the case with video editing.

True ntsc frame rate is actually 29.976. No biggie, since some apps
round their fps to 29 or 30... so the Studio warning is somewhat
minor. I've never had problems with ntsc. PAL being 25fps, you could
end up with av sync being off when you convert it to a movie. Then
you get to have fun adding or deleting silence to your audio ; )

Hi,

I think you have source file in NTSC format , studio software will
output the file in NTSC fomrat , try to change the format of the file
in PAL first . I think virtualdub software will help you to resolve
this ...

goodluck!!!!!!!!!
