My MP3 Pro v5 Problem

Something has happened to my system and I can't seem to record anything.
Everything I do record creates a blank .mp3 file. The recording level
indicators show no signal getting to the program.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, used Notons Sysclean to remove stray
registry settings, but all to no avail.

When I do install, before running, I get a box popup saying about Pinnacle
has detected driver problems, click yes to fix. I click and it tells me
problem sorted. Still don't work.

Any ideas?

Click on:
Start>Settings>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager. Do you see any
red X's or yellow !'s?

No. Everything is as it should be.

Maybe stating the bloddy obvious but have got the mic cable plugged intot he
right socket on your sound card, and in the mixer panel make sure the mute
check box is unchecked.

I know it sounds stupid, but it is sometimes the simplest and most obvious
solution that cannot be seen through the fog of war.

Do you have the port that the audio is on set in the recorder control? Can
you record with another program like Windows Sound Recorder? What sound card
do you have? Did you post the exact error messages you received? Do you get
error messages using the other program?

Pinnacle defaults to the Microphone setting when you use the voice over
function. I record with an external sound editor so it's not an issue with
me.

I have the Audigy Platinum box on the front of my CPU, so it makes sense to
use a good non-popping mike and plug it in Mike/Line2. Problem is, when you
try to use that Mike/Line 2 port, Pinnacle unchecks that port and checks
MICROPHONE every time you press RECORD in Pinnacle.

Double click the SOUND icon on your system bar, select OPTIONS, PROPERTIES,
RECORDING. Make sure all the appropriate sound controls are selected so
they'll show up in the recording control window. Select whatever port you
plugged your microphone or sound device into (LINE IN, LINE IN2, AUXILIARY).
Don't close the recording control window. Then try recording a voice over
using Pinnacle. You'll see Pinnacle unselect whatever port you just
designated and it will select the MICROPHONE port.
